Find your perfect position: BenQ launches two new widescreen LCD Monitors that pivot, rotate, tilt, and rise above the competition.

BenQ has increased its widescreen range to include the new 22 and 24-inch displays, the G2200WT and G2400WT. The new WT range provides users with a display that is adjustable in height, with 130mm movement; almost double that of regular competitive models. If that’s not ergonomic enough then a back & forth tilt, 90 degree pivot, and side to side swivel are easily adjusted to give users a personalised optimum viewing position.

Both are ideal for business users who often spend long periods in front of a screen. Both widescreens will be housed in a sleek and stylish silver and black casing. The G2200WT and G2400WT models come with DCR (dynamic contrast ratio), a 5 ms response time, a viewing angle of 160° vertical and 160° horizontal, Senseye® +Photo Technology and Windows® Vista™ Premium logo .

The G2200WT display arrives with a DCR of 2,500:1, 1,680 x 1,050 resolution (WSXGA+) and 300 cd/m² brightness. Additionally, the new model is equipped with dual inputs – D-sub connectivity and DVI-D supporting HDCP for uncompromised HD video. The G2400WT features a DCR of 4,000:1, 1,920 x 1,200 resolution (WUXGA), 250 cd/m² brightness and a headphone jack. Furthermore, this widescreen model has DVI (with HDCP) and D-sub ports, as well as an HDMI™ interface.

The EU Directive lays down general prevention principles at workplaces including the installation of TFT monitors. Generally, G-Series monitors are engineered with user comfort and environmental responsibility in mind. For example, to guarantee an ergonomic computer workstation both widescreen displays G2200WT/G2400WT provide users with, among other things, a flexible screen adjustment to arrange the screen viewing individually, including pivot and height adjustment. TCO03 compliance guarantees that G-monitors meet the strictest standards for ergonomics, ecology, emissions and energy. An ENERGYSTAR rating further ensures reduced power consumption in all modes – on, standby and off.

Productivity in the office is increased via the large wide-format display sizes. For Word documents, users can easily view two pages side by side at 100%, while for applications such as Excel and desktop publishing, more data and graphics can be displayed at one time. Large-screen viewing also enables easier navigation through multiple open applications.

Advanced BenQ Senseye®+Photo technology guarantees that the colour and image quality of the new model is even more brilliant. Using the standardised sRGB colour space, Senseye®+Photo technology ensures colour-accurate image reproduction over sRGB-compatible peripheral equipment, including printers and digital cameras.

The BenQ G2200WT and G2400WT will be available in August at a recommended retail price of G2200WT £180 inc VAT, and G2400WT £318 inc VAT.

Don’t leave your presentation in the dark-ages. BenQ launches their ultra bright “lights on” DLP projector range.

Hemel Hempstead, London, 30th July

BenQ presents two exciting new digital projectors; the SP920 and the SP870. Both XGA projectors (1,024 x 768 resolution) deliver an ultra-high brightness level, with the SP920 boasting an impressive 6,000 ANSI lumens, and the SP870 5,000 ANSI Lumens. Users will no longer have to turn off lights when showing presentations, as the BenQ SP920 and SP870 are suitable for high-ambient-light environments ranging from meeting rooms to auditoriums.

These two models are at the top end of BenQ’s compelling data & home digital projector range of over 20 models, so BenQ are now sure to have a model for everyone’s projection needs.

In addition to featuring a super brightness level, the SP920 and SP870 also packs in the punches with a full suite of features – including 2,000:1 sharp contrast ratio, BrilliantColor™, Presentation Timer, Quick Auto Source (the industry’s fastest source detection), 30-second Quick Cooling, Lamp Care, Wall Color Correction, 3D colour management, and Blackboard Mode allowing users to focus on a perfect presentation instead of fumbling with setup. With all these features they truly are the perfect presentation partner.

The DLP® BrilliantColor™ chipset, enables the SP920 and SP870 to perform multicolour processing for vibrant colours on the screen, ensuring higher brightness and superior contrast for deeper blacks and brighter whites. The Independent Colour Management feature offers independent adjustments to red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow to fine-tune the hue and saturation.

The SP920 also comes equipped with a dual lamp offering three sets of lamp mode; allowing for operation in large, mid-large or normal-sized rooms. For large rooms and auditoriums 6,000 ANSI lumens with dual lamp (Normal Mode) are suitable to deliver a bright and clear image. The dual lamp (Eco Mode) delivers 4,800 ANSI lumens which manage mid-large presentation situations. In normal-sized environments 3,000 ANSI lumens with a single lamp (Normal Mode) are sufficient. In this case, the second lamp will be on standby which saves electricity and extends the lamp lifetime.

Engineered to operate in fully lit environments, the SP920 arrives with UNISHAPE technology which enables the projector to render brighter images with richer colour depth at higher contrast. With UNISHAPE, the SP920 is able to counteract loss of image brightness by varying the intensity of the projector lamp in synchronisation with the colour wheel, resulting in a 40% increase in image brightness and boosting specific colours in different setting modes.

The BenQ SP920 and SP870 from early August 2008. The recommended retail price for the SP920 is £2,999 ex. VAT and for the SP870 is £1,299 ex. VAT

The latest 16:9 Full-HD monitor trend – BenQ leads market with new LCD line-up.

The rising popularity and availability of Full HD content has made the 16:9 1,080p format the major trend among IT displays. With 100% dot-for-dot matching to Full HD (1,080 lines) material, 16:9 format renders Full HD content in true native ratio without distortion, blur or resizing for immaculate visuals.

As Blu-ray, HD ready and Full HD are sent in 16:9 format, the user has a real full-screen picture only with a 16:9 display. As a result, black frames do not appear any more at the top or beneath the display screen. Additionally, a more detailed and crystal-clear picture can be presented on the display screen. The most important benefit is the Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, which delivers uncompromised visual enjoyment of digital HD set-top boxes, Blu-ray movies and HD-gaming with PC or consoles.

As an industry-leading 16:9 Full HD adopter, BenQ will introduce three 16:9 1,080p Full HD LCDs in September for the European market.

“With the introduction of the world’s first 21.5” Full HD 16:9 LCD, BenQ is clearly poised to bring HD splendor beyond just TV,” said Peter Chen, General Manager of BenQ Technology Product Center. “Our upcoming Full HD lineup in sleek LCD form makes 1080p viewing luxury a convenient possibility for all aspects of daily life, reaffirming our core competency in display innovation and our relentless pursuit of bringing enjoyment and quality to life through seamless merging of work and play.”

Extending its 22″ segment BenQ will offer the 21.5″ 1,080p Full HD design display E2200HD encased in glossy black featuring a 1,920 x 1,080p native resolution, where 15% more pixels can be sharply displayed compared with normal 22″ resolution (1,680 x 1,050). Furthermore, the BenQ E2200HD is equipped with a high 10,000:1 DCR, 2 ms GTG response time, HDMI™ and DVI (both with HDCP), headphone jack, integrated stereo speaker and Windows® Vista™ Premium Certification¹.

Also two new 16:9 models will be added to the 24″ segment: the BenQ E2400HD in glossy black casing and the BenQ M2400HD encased in glossy white. Both Full HD models arrive with a 1,920 x 1,080 native resolution, HDMI™ and DVI (both with HDCP), a high 10,000:1 DCR, integrated stereo speaker, headphone jack, a fast 2 ms GTG response time and Windows® Vista™ Premium Certification. The M-Series offers on top a 2.0M webcam so consumers can easily and spontaneously stay in touch via Web conferencing or Internet chatting.

Display of perfection, inside and out. The V2400W 24-inch Widescreen LCD from BenQ

BenQ presents the V2400W 24-inch widescreen LCD. BenQ’s V series is aimed at home users who want nothing less than state-of-the-art technology and the very best display design. The BenQ V2400W boasts a lightning response time for its size of just 2 ms. This model also features an impressive WUXGA resolution, the new BenQ Senseye®+Photo technology and a dynamic contrast of 4,000:1. The design model has already received the iF Design Award 2008 and the Red Dot Design Award 2008. The recommended retail price is £330 incl. VAT.

Today, the Internet, video telephony or games transform a display into much more than just a working tool. A TFT is increasingly being seen as an eye-catching design and lifestyle object that has to integrate into the living space. By the same token, a monitor has to be attractive to look at – even when switched off. BenQ meets this requirement by breaking through traditional thinking about monitor symmetry and presenting the V2400W as a unique, asymmetrical design monitor: the base stand is on the right and the operating elements on the frame on the left. The 24-inch monitor therefore adopts an extraordinary and elegant stance. In addition, this model cuts an extremely slim figure, measuring an approx. mere 6 cm at its thickest point.

Since, for home users, it is becoming increasingly important for TFTs to have as many inputs as possible, the design model features DVI and D-sub ports, as well as an HDMI™ interface. This opens up current application possibilities for the user in the high-definition segment, such as video editing, Blu-ray™ playback and the connection of games consoles.

Thanks to the widescreen format and the HDMI™ interface, the V2400W is highly suitable as second monitor for connecting games consoles, hard-disc recorders or notebooks to allow a larger image and working area for stationary work.

Each respondent also gave feedback on the after-sales service they received when things went wrong, making this the UK’s most trustworthy IT buyers’ guide.
